Do you really want more?---reflection to the movie "Super Size Me"

Fast food, a splendid name for junk food, dominates America’s food industry, gradually even the world from the 1990s till now! Admittedly, capital made by giant corporations can benefits themselves and pull up the national economy to some extent, while people are the sufferers. The “high calorie” eating habit formed by people unconsciously is deemed as the first trigger to obesity which directly affects your health (hypertension, heart diseases, etc). However, most of the people in America somehow do not realize it and keep on being Big McDonald Fans. The movie “Super Size Me” serves as an alarming clock in order to give rise to people’s awareness.

“For 30 days, Morgan Spurlock consumed nothing but food from McDonald's, an experiment in bad living that frames a jaunty critique of junk gastronomy and corporate power.” A gain of 25lbs in 30 days is the obvious and powerful evidence of the negative affection.

People may ask big questions such as “Are public health problems caused by capitalist rapacity or personal choice?” or “do corporations serve our need or enslave our bodies and soul? For the first question, I think both sides should take the responsibility. The reason why people addicted to the junk food under the condition that they have already known the devastating effect is because of its fastness, convenience and good taste. The big commercial companies, since the sole purpose is profits, instead of pointing out the nutrition clearly, they use Media propaganda, celebrity Ads for example, to tempt people!! Although they serve our need, actually enslave our bodies and soul from long-term view. Of course, we all know where these answers lie, so please ask yourself these questions chronically when you have a junk food rush.

A healthy diet can also be fast, convenience and good taste is what we need indeed.

Hello.. I really like your title.. do you really want more? I think I need to ask myself that question everytime I eat. It's strange because we, human beings, as a species are hunters and gatherers, so when we get the chanve to eat, we think, somewhere in our complex minds-this may be the last time for days. When in reality, at least in my reality, I am fortunate enough to eat everyday, unless I choose not to. In "Supersize Me" one women shows the change is the size of drinks offered at McDonalds. The large size in the 1950s become the small size and the largest size now offered is over 32ounces.. Can you imagine? Where in our minds do we think we need to consume that much of a drink in one sitting. It is ridiculous. Yet, everyday someone is buying the "supersize me" size. Now, is this because the supersize is offered to the consumer and the instinct in their head whispers, "yes. need more"? Do corporations like McDonalds play on our instincts? What a sad thought, how manipulative and mean I think your suggestion of asking the question- do I really need more?- before consuming media, food, whatever is a good solution to too much of anything.

I too enjoyed the title. We do need to think more when we consume fast food. I felt that "Supersize Me" really captured the fast food mania that we are going through. At first when Spurlock brought upthis idea I thought it was stupid but as I saw the dramatic changes he went through I found it very intersting. the side effects he had were very intersting.

Not only is your blog amazing but your writing as well. You really were able to get your opinion across and do it in a tasteful manner (no pun intended). I too was disappointed to see the effects of fast food to the body yet at the same time not surprised. No one could eat a bucket full of greasy fries and not feel effects nevermind do it for a month!
